As a Site CFD Engineer at INNIO you will be to work closely with the Production and Application Engineering groups to support product development and provide design guidance. In this role you will work systematically to make informed decisions and apply skills in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat transfer, and thermodynamics to issues of moderate complexity. The Engineer is based out of INNIO's Warsaw, Poland office and is responsible for the constructing CFD models for the accurate simulation of natural gas engine systems or sub-systems for the power generation and data center market, correlate model results with test data, and develop design’s predictability to speed up Time to Market.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Familiar with the design requirements of reciprocating engine’s critical components such as pistons, power cylinders, cylinder liners, heads, and engine cooling systems to determine critical to quality (CTQ’s) of each of these components.
  • Constructing accurate CFD models and conduct environmental site CFD analyses of the internal combustion engine intake and exhaust air paths specific for the data center markets.
  • Ability to interpret CFD methods to quantify hardware impacts on component and/or engine performance to help drive the engine design and address issues that arise during the engine development process.
  • Must be able to provide required inputs from model and drawing study to support FEA and 1D-hydraulic team to analyze and improve current designs including detailing the required boundary conditions.
  • Define simulation, experimental project requirements and objectives, generate statements of work, define timelines, and ensure on-time completion of projects.
  • Develop domain expertise and share knowledge with peers and the engineering community through technical reports.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong technical presentation skills.
  • Must possess a strong desire to learn, investigate, and solve technical issues in a team environment.
  • (For lead-level candidates) Mentor and support less experienced colleagues, contribute to process improvements, and act as a main technical contact for cross-functional teams.
Your Profile:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline with mechanical work experience.
  • Minimum 3 - up to 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in performing CFD analyses.
  • Fluent in Polish and English, German language skill is a plus.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Min.3-10 years’ experience in thermofluid modeling – 3D fluid and thermal analyses of internal combustion engine environmental assessments in power generation applications using CFD analysis tools such as ANSYS CFX/Fluent and/or CONVERGE.
  • (For lead-level candidates) Experience in mentoring, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
